South Arousa

Starting from Harpazul we arrive at Carril, a small seaside village known for its famous clams, where we can cross the estuary to Illa Cortegada, a landscape gem of great ecological richness that holds Europe’s largest laurel forest.

After passing through Vilagarcía de Arousa, we head to A Illa de Arousa via a beautiful bridge that takes us to the Carreirón Natural Park, an area with white-sand beaches and pine forests.

At midday we reach Cambados and stop for lunch, enjoying its renowned albariño wine near the historic-artistic complex of Fefiñáns Square.

In the afternoon we visit Illa da Toxa. Here we can enjoy its mineromedicinal thermal waters, its soaps, or its handmade shell necklaces. Crossing the picturesque historic bridge we arrive at the center of O Grove, where we find several seafront promenades (notably Pedras Negras), an Aquarium, and a town considered the seafood capital—an ideal place to end this route.
